Okay, okay not exactly FREE money, but maybe YOUR own money returned to you.

Have you heard of ESCHEAT laws? Escheat laws require that unclaimed property be turned over to an applicable government authority. Examples include a final paycheck that’s never cashed or an inheritance for which the beneficiary can’t be located.

For those in Georgia, the Department of Revenue’s unclaimed property website https://gaclaims.unclaimedproperty.com/en/ allows you to search for possible funds that may be due you. There is no charge associated with the search or subsequent request for any $$ that may turn up in your name.
